Alumni are the embodiment of what a university stands for; turning students into successful professionals in a vast range of careers.
Telling their stories...
Demonstrates a world of possibilities to prospective students
Motivates and inspires those currently studying
Shows graduates a continued interest in graduates' futures
Underlines the success of the institution
Personifies the ambitions of the enrolled
Represents the aspirations of those donning their cap and gown
And helps in attracting donations.
Still the most versatile means of telling these stories are written profiles, which can be used on websites, in publications, email campaigns, the prospectus – or even handouts for those visiting on open days.
Staffordshire University has long championed its graduates – telling their success stories in the alumni magazine, SA. More recently, the University website has been home to these alumni profiles. They are also used as content for their social media channels, celebrating those who have achieved success after attaining degrees.
The University wanted to ensure new content was added to the website regularly and approached Sam Schofield to produce the profiles. Using interview and shorthand skills gained from training and working as a journalist, Sam arranged and conducted interviews, produced the copy, managed the approvals process and sourced accompanying photography.
“Sam has done a fantastic job producing alumni profiles for our website. He is great to work with, reliable and has a writing style that is always engaging. I can’t recommend him highly enough."
